When players have the same hand type, kickers determine the winner:
Example:
- Player A: A♠-A♥-K♦-7♣-2♠ (Pair of Aces, King kicker)
- Player B: A♦-A♣-Q♠-J♥-8♦ (Pair of Aces, Queen kicker)
Player A wins because King beats Queen as the kicker.
